Requirements Definition Workshop

The full-service IT provider NTT DATA Business Solutions invited the partners of the "Climate neutral Business in Ostwestfalen-Lippe (Climate bOWL)" project to its headquarters in Bielefeld on 28 July. The reason for this was a first joint workshop on the topic of requirements analysis. The research and application partners accepted this invitation in large numbers. As part of the first work package, the requirements for the assistance system to be developed were jointly determined, thus laying the foundation for the further course of the project.

The aim of the workshop was to detail the requirements for product carbon footprint (PCF) tracking and the intelligent assistance system. The definition of generally applicable requirements was characterised by drivers of corporate climate management as well as legal and corporate requirements.

Requirements were collected in a varied simulation game, which were then specified and prioritised. "The results of the workshop confirm that end-to-end emissions management along the value chain requires interdisciplinary collaboration between the consortium partners to develop solutions that meet the requirements. The interdisciplinary links and the different research domains and expertise of the project partners present therefore proved to be very helpful," reports Paul Dietrich, who chaired the workshop.

Thanks go to all participants for their constructive cooperation in the workshop. "We are already looking forward to the next workshop in September, where we will be able to build on the results obtained," says Marius Naumann from Paderborn University, which is organising the next workshop.
